October issue of Environmental Finance out now

London, 11 October:   The latest issue of Environmental Finance is now available, including a special supplement on the carbon market in Asia.

As the delegates to the latest, and unusually climate change-dominated, APEC meeting in Sydney return home, Environmental Finance reports on the impact the group could have in the long term.

The supplement takes a tour around Asia to assess the opportunities for Clean Development Mechanism projects, then considers whether a domestic emissions trading scheme could help India and China reduce their carbon footprint.

Elsewhere in the issue, John Gummer, from the UK's Conservative party, sets out why “crude capitalism” must be adapted to take into account social and environmental factors.

Other features in the issue include:

  • How the push for a new generation of nuclear could benefit renewable power;
  • Why new accounting regulations in Japan may uncover hidden environmental liabilities;
  • A profile of Ceres and its new approach to fuel cell technology; and
  • A report on Australia's burgeoning clean-tech venture capital sector.

The issue also includes news, market data and people moves. To see some a summary of this month's news and features, and to read sample features from Environmental Finance, click here.
