CataCap is a technology platform that enables foundations, donor-advised funds (DAFs), family offices, and others to channel a portion of their capital into high-impact, mission-aligned investments in climate, health, and equity, alongside financial returns.
CataCap is designed, via its digital infrastructure, to connect two traditionally discrete silos: Philanthropic Asset Holders (DAFs, foundations, family offices, corporates) seeking compliant pathways to activate investment capital; and impact funds and venture capital firms.
According to CataCap, most foundation, DAF, and family office assets are locked in traditional, low-impact investments that often conflict with the very missions they support through grantmaking. CataCap aims to allow these mission-driven investors to move from passive capital preservation to catalytic capital deployment, aligning it with their values by investing directly in the innovators and solutions addressing urgent global challenges.
During the past year, the firm reports it has mobilised over $2.5 million in philanthropic funds into for-profit ventures. Donors have also allocated over $1 million towards women-led ventures and over $1.4 million in climate solutions.
