Abu Dhabi-based EMSTEEL says its sustainability report is a "monetisation tool", to "enhance market differentiation, enable green finance access, and support customer alignment on low-carbon procurement".

It claims alignment with the double materiality process enshrined in the EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive entailed "broad-based engagement across internal and external groups" of more than 500 stakeholders.

The report is also "aligned with" Abu Dhabi reporting rules for listed companies and global standards such as GRI and the IFRS S2 sustainability standards, as well as with World Steel Association indicators, the listed steel and cement maker said.

One Sustainable Company Awards judge called it "a best in class report", while another praised its "clean and straightforward design, with robust alignment to relevant frameworks...Both the data and narrative demonstrate a high level of transparency, and the disclosure on stakeholder engagement is exemplary".
