The $1.25 billion Eastspring Investments Asia Select Bond fund secured the fixed income fund award for the Asia Pacific region for its nuanced approach to identifying credible transition stories.

The fund was praised for its pragmatic approach to supporting sustainable bond markets in Asia, including through labelled sustainable bonds.

Although it dropped its previous Asia ESG Bond fund name in 2025 amid increasingly onerous sustainable fund naming regulations, the Asia-focused fund has continued to focus on using a sustainable transition lens to support performance.

An Environmental Finance Sustainable Investment Awards judge complimented the fund for taking a "unique approach" to sustainable fixed income investing that has been "tailored and customised" to the Asia context to ensure its investment drives transition whilst defending against greenwashing.

In particular, its composite transition portfolio screen was praised for its leveraging of third-party data to identify those issuers either already aligned or making efforts to align with a net zero future. The screen includes two elements related to the emissions reduction efforts of the issuer as well as their efforts to invest in climate transition opportunities through growth in 'green' revenue or capital expenditure.
