Sustainable Investment Awards 2026

Fixed income fund of the year - Global: Amova AM Global Green Bond Fund

Amova AM's Global Green Bond Fund stood out for the level of scrutiny it applies to the fast-growing market for labelled bonds. Rather than relying solely on a green or sustainability label, the fund assesses issuers' broader sustainability strategies, the credibility of bond frameworks and the quality of post-issuance reporting before investing.

That approach was central to the judges' assessment, with particular attention paid to examples where the fund declined to invest in bonds that did not meet its standards for transparency or environmental integrity.

The Japan-headquartered asset manager also demonstrated how active engagement forms part of its investment process. In one example, the team conducted a detailed review of forestry operations linked to a bond issued by a leading global packaging company following alerts related to biodiversity and land-rights concerns.

As of March 2026, the fund estimated that every $1 million invested contributed to avoiding more than 400 tonnes of annual greenhouse gas emissions. Investments across the portfolio financed a wide range of projects such as renewable energy generation, clean transportation, water savings and expanded wastewater treatment capacity.

Alongside its sustainability focus, the fund has also delivered competitive results, with the USD share class generating a gross return of 7.70% for the one-year period to March 2026.
