Brief description of the data offering
The Climate Bonds Green Bond Database is a comprehensive list of labelled green debt instruments (including bonds, ABS and loans) with proceeds going to green categories issued since 2007.
All data is collected by the Climate Bonds Initiative and the use of proceeds of each bond is screened.
- Comprehensive sources to identify the labelled bonds, including Climate Bonds regional teams and the network of issuers, external reviewers and underwriters.
- Use of proceeds of each bond is screened against the Climate Bonds Taxonomy.
- An excluded list to show which bonds have been excluded and why.
- Use of proceeds datapoints provided to filter, categorise and describe each bond.
Climate Bonds Partners receive more information. Certain packages include information on bonds that are not in line with Climate Bonds Taxonomy. e.g. bonds financing ‘clean coal’, pending bonds and repack deals as well.
CBI also provide data on unlabelled climate-aligned issuers. We are also creating a separate database for other labels (e.g. sustainability and social bonds) and will provide this data starting later this year.
