What data do you provide?

STOXX provides a comprehensive and innovative suite of transparent and rules-based ESG  indices that meet a wide scope of responsible criteria.

In 2011 the STOXX® Global ESG Leaders indices, which track the pioneers in each of the E, S and G categories, were introduced. The ESG Leaders family includes a popular index like EURO STOXX ESG Leaders 50.

In 2015, the ESG Leaders family was extended with Select and Diversification Select indices. This index family includes the popular STOXX Europe ESG Leaders Select 30 and STOXX Global ESG Leaders Select 50

In 2016, the STOXX® Low Carbon indices were launched including EURO STOXX 50 Low Carbon. This was followed in 2017 by the STOXX Climate Impact and Climate Awareness indices.

A new chapter in sustainable passive investing opened up in 2019 with the launch of ESG-X benchmark series based on standardized norm- and product-based screenings that meet leading asset owners’ responsible policies. The STOXX Europe 600 ESG-X underlies the first European ESG futures on Eurex, providing investors to trade the ESG-screened version of the European benchmark.

Where and how do you source your data?

Thanks to its open-architecture policy, STOXX uses best-in-class ESG data partners to design its indices, including:

  1. Sustainalytics for product involvement screening, norm-based screening, ESG scores, ESG Risk Ratings.
  2. CDP for reporting carbon intensity data, climate scores
  3. ISS ESG for estimated carbon intensity data

STOXX index data is available to all licensees via gateway providers like Bloomberg, Factset and Refinitiv. Our index offering covers 95% of the world's investable market capitalization across developed and emerging markets, segregated in regions, countries and sectors. STOXX data enables clients to create custom benchmarks to measure the relative performance of portfolios in an objective manner.

Who are the data users?

Our data is licensed to pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers and investment banks. As of October 2017, more than 135 billion US dollars in assets were benchmarked to STOXX and DAX indices worldwide. Exchange-traded funds, index mutual funds, derivatives, certificates, warrants and structured products are based on our indices, and we are the European market leader in the provision of indicative net asset values for ETF issuers.

What is the cost for your data offering?

License fee is depending on the usage of the data, like for example mandates, passive funds, institutional funds, retail funds, structured products and trading.

ESG screened benchmarks are offered at the same price as standard benchmarks.
