CDP - CDP Scores: Climate, Water, Forests
- Environmental data
- Governance data
What data do you provide?
CDP runs the world's largest environmental disclosure platform, resulting in comprehensive quantitative and qualitative datasets on climate change, water and forests, produced annually.
After each disclosure period, CDP provides a letter score for each company through a transparent methodology. The score assesses a company's progress towards environmental stewardship based on the level of detail and comprehensiveness in its response, as well as its awareness of climate change issues, management methods and progress towards action taken on climate change as reported in the response.
This scoring process simplifies hundreds of datapoints within each company response into a metric that can be integrated into financial decision-making. The CDP scores datasets are available for each of our questionnaires: climate change, water and forests.
Where and how do you source your data?
CDP scores incentivize companies to measure and manage environmental impacts through participation in CDP's climate change, forests, and water security questionnaires. Each of CDP’s questionnaires has a publicly available scoring methodology. The scoring of CDP's questionnaires is conducted by accredited scoring partners trained by CDP. CDP’s internal scoring team coordinates and collates all scores and runs data quality checks and quality assurance processes to ensure that scoring standards are aligned between samples and scoring partners.
CDP's full scoring methodologies are available at https://www.cdp.net/en/guidance/guidance-for-companies.
