What data do you provide?
Refinitiv offers one of the most comprehensive ESG data offerings in the industry, covering over 70% of global market cap, across more than 450 different ESG metrics, with history going back to 2002. ESG metrics comprise of ESG scores, raw metrics, standardized and analytic data. The ESG universe consists of 9,000 companies, covering 23 major global and regional indices. The data, analytics and scores are updated weekly, with fully transparent and objective collection and scoring methodologies. ESG news and controversies are updated on a continuous basis as and when such events occur and get picked up by global media. In addition to scores, analytics and raw metrics for companies, Refinitiv houses one of the largest databases of green bonds. Refinitiv also provides hundreds of other data sets which can be integrated with ESG content, such as M&A, Deals, Company Financials, Estimates, Ownership etc.
Where and how do you source your data?
All ESG data measures are sourced from publicly available sources, including Annual Reports, Sustainability Reports, Proxies, Company Websites etc. Refinitiv collects some data points from third party sources and NGO websites. ESG Controversies are captured from hundreds of top editorial sources such as Reuters, Associated Press, Financial Times, etc.
Powered by the market leading macro-economic time series database DataStream, Refinitiv ESG Country scores are designed to transparently and objectively measure a country’s relative performance across each of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This data is sourced from the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.
