- Physical asset-level data
What data do you provide?
Asset Resolution’s data-driven solutions help financial institutions integrate climate risks and opportunities in their investment strategies:
- Our data maps over 300,000 physical assets across 8 sectors to over 90,000 companies and to financial instruments.
- We provide metrics including capacity, production, emissions intensity, and geolocation at the asset, corporate, and security level.
- We cover the following sectors: oil and gas, coal, power, automotive, aviation, shipping, steel, and cement.
We work with our clients to turn this data into information that they can use to allocate capital in line with the climate transition. For example, our data is used by the 2° Investing Initiative’s Paris Agreement Capital Transition Assessment (PACTA) tool.
Where and how do you source your data?
We partner with leading business intelligence providers to source and distribute data on physical assets in the real economy, for example AutoForecast Solutions for the automotive sector and GlobalData for the oil and gas, coal and power sectors. Our team maps the physical assets with security issuers using ownership data from various third-party sources and produces key indicators at asset, company and security level. In addition, we triangulate data sources, work with data providers on data gaps and errors, and complement this data with public information we collect. Finally, we also gather information and feedback directly from some of the companies we cover, and through partnerships with research institutions.
Who are the data users?
Asset owners, asset managers, consultants, and research organisations globally use our data for a range of purposes including portfolio analysis and reporting, portfolio alignment, physical risk analysis, TCFD reporting, and research and analysis.
What is the cost for your data offering?
The cost is variable and depends on the granularity and coverage of the data, the use of the data (internal use, distribution of derived data, redistribution of data), and the size and type of user (non-profit research, commercial application). Please contact Asset Resolution for further information on licensing our data.
