Brief description of the data offering
ESGAnalytics.AI is a major US research university’s R&D spinoff. The team has extensive domain expertise in climate, data sciences, advanced statistics and AI. ESGAnalytics.AI uses geospatial data (multiple satellites), and creates, scientifically valid data sets on thematic issues around ESG concerns for locations (such as countries, zip codes), sectors (such as oil & gas), and businesses (such as Apple/AAPL). These include Environmental (ex. hazardous wastes) to assess impact and risks, Social (ex. gender equity) to assess human resource management/impact, and Governance (ex: tax impact) to assess management outlooks.
Data is provided through APIs, SaaS platform, flat files, as well as other data feeds. ESGAnalytics.AI Platform offers quantitative data (risk rankings and analytics) and deeper reporting around biodiversity, blue ocean economy, food security and energy investment risk. Our Data Feeds are customized exports of our ESG data at multiple scales.
Where and how do you source your data?
We use big data from satellites, drones, census, surveys, social media, and other alternative data sources to provide integrative intelligence and insights around ESG thematic and material issues. With over 1000 data sets, these include, health and wellness, AI automation, COVID recovery, social justice, digital divide, education opportunity gap, water quality, green energy transition, climate scenarios, emissions, gender and race gaps, etc. Primary coverage is spatial locations, geographies, and equities globally.
Data is collected from data sources including (1) company reports, (2) social media, (3) news reports & PR reports, (4) legal filings, (5) satellites/GIS, (6) drones, and (7) on-the-ground research / ground truth as well as other/government data sources.
Who are the data users?
Analysts utilize our data to cut through the greenwashing to better measure performance and impact aligning with their strategic goals. VC firms use it to make smart investment decisions. We provide a 3rd-party audit of data from external sources triangulated with reports to provide a 360 view of the ESG landscape.
Specific customers include portfolio managers, institutional investors, CFAs, etc., who routinely analyse ESG data for their decision making.
What is the cost for your data offering?
Pricing model is based on an annual subscription model. It depends on scope of the data, time period of coverage, spatial footprint. We offer in-depth reports on how companies rate on GRI, SASB, TCFD, and newly minted SFDR, which we are currently scoping. The minimum size of our ESG research is $50K and data sells upwards of $10K.
