Brief description of the data offering
We support asset managers, asset owners, hedge funds, insurers and banks in identifying and quantifying ESG- and climate-related investment risks and opportunities, enabling them to maximize portfolio returns and minimize downside exposures.
Our Global Risk Analytics Dataset delivers scores on 170+ ESG, climate and political risk issues across 198 countries, 150+ commodities and 74 industries, as well as unique forward-looking projections for key ESG metrics. We also offer proprietary sovereign ESG ratings.
Through our Institutional Investor Service, we support our clients with incorporating these factors into their investment processes across multiple asset classes, including sovereign debt, real assets, commodities and trade finance, listed equities, corporate fixed income, and private equity, as well as multi-asset strategies.
Where and how do you source your data?
Our data is built on 1000+ indicators, drawing from a wide range of geospatial, satellite, unstructured, proprietary, and structured sources. Publicly available data make up only a small minority of these.
We use a wide range of data collection, aggregation, and forecasting methods, including machine learning, NLP, Monte Carlo, GIS, and expert-driven research, depending on the issue being assessed.
As standard our customers have full access to both transformed and raw indicator data, as well as the methodology and sources underpinning every dataset they can access. We give our clients the ability to dig beneath the headline numbers to fully understand the factors relevant to them and how they can best incorporate these into their strategies.
Who are the data users?
ESG analysts and portfolio managers at asset managers, asset owners, insurers, and hedge funds, across multiple asset classes and investment strategies, as well as ETF and index providers seeking to create custom tradeable thematic indices and funds.
We also work extensively with banking E&S, reputational risk, security & infrastructure, compliance, and sustainability functions, as well as corporate investor relations, responsible sourcing, sustainable procurement, legal and ethics, human rights, and market entry teams.
