Brief description of the data offering
Sustainability Compass – Obtain and translate climate change, natural hazards, and biodiversity and ecosystem services data into actionable metrics that inform commercial decision-making and disclosures to internal and external stakeholders:
The Sustainability Compass quantifies physical risks by combining high-resolution climate models with Swiss Re's proprietary natural hazard data, such as flood and storm surge zones. Enabling risk assessments and quantification across different scenarios and time horizons.
In addition to physical risk assessments, the Sustainability Compass provides insights into the state of biodiversity and ecosystem services. Combined with robust climate model data, it identifies future hotspots of biodiversity loss and ecosystem service degradation and enables a company to assess its dependence and impacts based on its own and suppliers' economic activities.

Where and how do you source your data?
The Sustainability Compass provides a secure data foundation that brings various risk data sources together to form a geo-encoded digital twin of a company's asset and activity portfolio. This enables a “Single source of truth” with credible data that users can trust and that can interact with augmented physical risk and biodiversity and ecosystem services data:
Swiss Re’s physical climate risk data combines the latest climate models used for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) with both Swiss Re’s 160-year experience in underwriting natural catastrophes and Swiss Re's proprietary hazard layers.
Biodiversity and ecosystem services data was created and patented by the Swiss Re Institute, incorporating findings from globally reviewed, high-quality scientific data into this family of 11-category indices.
Who are the data users?
