What data do you provide?

Refinitiv (formerly the Financial and Risk division of Thomson Reuters) provides ratings, raw metrics (400+), and analytics for more than 70% of the global market cap dating back to 2002. The database and ratings are updated weekly, with fully transparent methodology. In addition to ratings and raw metrics, Refinitiv houses one of the largest databases of green bonds not to mention a robust collection of third party research.

Refinitiv also provides hundreds of other data sets which can be integrated with ESG content.

Where and how do you source your data?

We source ESG data from publicly reported company documents (e.g. annual reports, company websites, filings, CSR reports, etc.). We complement those data points with NGO websites and reputable news publications to measure controversies.

The data is objective, clean, and standardized. We are also transparent to the raw metrics and source documentation. To ensure quality, we use automated quality checks and engage with corporates where appropriate.

The data is updated on a weekly basis.

Who are the data users?

The 20,000+ users of Refinitiv ESG data include asset owners, asset managers, wealth managers, investment banks, research brokers, corporates, academics, consultants, government agencies, exchanges, and media companies. We cover the spectrum of customers, geographies, use cases, and do so with massive amounts of clients in each segment.

The integration of the ESG data on Eikon allows for flexibility in use without incurring additional cost to source a separate ESG data provider. The objective data and transparent methodology allows users to create custom ratings based on mandates, values, and/or strategies.
