What data do you provide?

FactSet Global Sanctions allows you to identify, monitor, and analyze the relationships between entities and individuals on the U.S. and global economic sanctions lists. These lists include details on targeted entities and individuals that may pose threats to national security, foreign policy or economy of the United States.  

  • Leverage data on the aliases for entities and individuals to support enhanced due diligence with client onboarding, KYC, and AML workflows 

  • Access over 75 global sanction lists, including the dates the individual or entity first and last appeared on the list 

  • Identify direct relationships, parent hierarchy relationships, and affiliated entities  

Where and how do you source your data?

FactSet Global Sanctions sources entity and individual data directly from the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions lists and other restricted lists maintained by global authorities including Australia, Great Britain, European Union, and United Nations. Coverage includes 11,600 entities, people, and aircrafts. Changes are automatically processed daily for sanctions lists maintained by OFAC and on a weekly basis for sanctions lists maintained by other global authorities. FactSet maps the entities and individuals that appears on those lists to FactSet’s Symbology. FactSet also identifies relationships between entities and individuals that appear on the lists. Aliases for those entities and individuals are also collected to support enhanced due diligence with client onboarding, KYC and AML workflows. 

Who are the data users?

FactSet Global Sanctions is used by a variety of firms, but primarily within compliance departments looking to facilitate research into the institutions with whom they wish to conduct business. Additionally, firms whose investment strategies are ESG-focused leverage this solution for help in determining whether an entity in which they want to invest is closely associated with a sanctioned institution or individual.
