What data do you provide?
ISS ESG’s Impact Assessment provides investors with comprehensive impact data relating to a company’s product portfolio and production processes. The resulting analysis enables quantification of a portfolio’s positive or negative contribution towards sustainable development and the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Elements included in the Impact Assessment include:
- Sustainable Solutions Assessment
- Fossil Fuel Exposure Analysis
- Raw data covering CO2 emissions, water use, permanent working contracts, separation of power between CEO and Chairman, etc.
The ISS ESG Impact Assessment allows investors to analyse and report on the ESG impact and contribution to Sustainable Development Goals achievement of funds and portfolios and to integrate a custom selection of the Impact Assessment into investment decisions.
Where and how do you source your data?
Data is primarily sourced from publicly available information, including a company’s own disclosure and reporting, reputable news, governmental and international institutions, recognised international or local non-governmental organizations, and non-biased subscription databases such as the CDP.
During the rating process, considerable importance is attached to the dialogue with the company under evaluation. Every other year, ISS ESG provides companies with ample opportunity to comment on and add to the provisional findings by submitting a draft rating report to the company for revision. After the period of consultation, the report is finalized, integrating the comments and additions that are deemed appropriate by the analyst in charge of the rating.
