Environmental Finance's Sustainability Data America conference will return to New York next week, with a stellar line-up of speakers.
The conference, now in its third year in the US, will hear about the latest trends in ESG data, how it is evolving and improving, and how investors and lenders want to use it.
Arik Ben Dor, managing director, head of quantitative equity research at Barclays, will deliver a keynote address, explaining quantitative techniques for using sustainability data to generate alpha.
With natural catastrophes such as floods and wildfires increasingly hitting the US, there will be a panel discussion on how data can be used to assess physical risks.
Another panel will zoom in on private markets, explaining the challenges and opportunities for these asset classes, and the drive to harmonise reported data.
With the policy landscape in the US becoming increasingly hostile to sustainable investing, another panel will explore the state of play for ESG data reporting.
There will also be a presentation on how AI can be used to unlock the potential of ESG data, while investors and corporates will discuss which ESG data points are material to them.
Other hot topics covered include the drive for assurance of data, and the growing demand for biodiversity and natural capital-focused data.
