ESMA, ISS ESG to discuss the future of sustainable finance regulation

29 November 2022

The ways in which sustainable finance regulation can evolve to help investors more efficiently channel investments to support the transition to net zero is to be discussed on an Environmental Finance webinar.

As investors prepare for more detailed reporting requirements in the EU from January, attendees will hear how and why several fund managers have reclassified their products under the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) to react to advice from the EU’s executive arm.

ISS ESG’s Ronja Wöstheinrich will discuss how data products can help investors navigate challenges in meeting the SFDR reporting requirements. Wöstheinrich is associate vice president for ESG methodology, regulatory solutions & fixed income at the data provider.

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA)’s Guilain Cals will explain how the supervisory authority has provided guidance on the SFDR and discuss ESMA’s future work on sustainable finance. Cals is a senior policy officer.

Victor van Hoorn, managing director of investment fund association ICI Global, will explore how policy and regulation can engender real-world impact, including by encouraging transition.

The event is sponsored by ISS ESG. It will begin at 3pm GMT/4pm CST on 30 November.
