CaixaBank's has won this year's Award for innovation – loan use of proceeds with its Green Guarantee Line to Acciona, a flexible guarantee line for green proceeds with a sub-limit dedicated to sustainable projects. The Spanish bank said the line limit allows clear traceability of funds and promotes transparency, ensuring that the financing supports eligible green projects.

The bank has partnered with the Loan Market Association (LMA) to integrate guarantee lines in the Green Loan Principles to enable the financial products to be recognised as green and aligning with market standards.

A Green Guarantee Line of €161 million ($174 million) has already begun supporting various projects being carried out by Spanish renewables operator and developer Acciona. The line has a sublimit of €100 million which will be exclusively allocated for green use of proceeds related to wind turbine projects around the world. By allowing the guaranteed line to be "segmented" and incorporating specific fund uses, it enables Acciona to maintain clear traceability of the funds and measure the positive impact generated.
