Developed by Macquarie Asset Management (MAM), supported by catalytic capital from the Green Climate Fund (GCF), Vertelo is a blended finance platform that seeks to support the decarbonisation of India's transport sector and improve urban air quality.
Anchored by $200 million in catalytic capital from the GCF, Vertelo reports it has achieved $405 million in total commitments – mobilising both public and private investors to support India's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
Since being founded in in April 2024, Vertelo says it has financed over 230 electric buses and cars, established two charging stations, and established partnerships with eight customers.
With a projected lifetime reduction of 9.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent, Vertelo demonstrates how catalytic capital and innovation can empower communities and accelerate climate action across emerging economies.
