IMPACT Investment Awards 2025

Naturetech investment/initiative of the year: Nature Alpha

NatureAlpha, winner of the Naturetech investment/initiative of the year award, has undergone a revamp of its data to utilise the transformative power of AI.

Less than a year after it initially launched its nature data platform, it released a second iteration, Geoverse 2.0,  with "fundamental changes in the way it assesses companies and their assets". With new methodology and AI capabilities, the platform now applies 28 different geospatial layers to 8.5 million asset locations worldwide, breaking down a company's risks across its operations.

It claims that its data now has 99.5% accuracy.

Since its launch, the data has also been broadly integrated across the market. The asset management arm of Union Bancaire Privée revealed to Environmental Finance that it has begun using this AI-informed nature data to fuel biodiversity engagements with public companies.

Both assurance and risk management firm DNV and the Intercontinental Exchange have also made the data available to their clients.

The firm continues to expand its operations and recently unveiled a new framework which enables businesses to put a financial value on nature risk, at an individual asset level – supporting economic resilience and long-term value creation – and responding to increasing demand from clients for solutions that help to meaningfully translate natural world risk and dependencies into quantifiable financial exposure.
