Amidst fund launches and an expansion into new markets, New Forests has won the Boutique investment manager of the year for Asia award for the third year running.

The first few months of 2025 have seen a flurry of new announcements from the Australian-headquartered investor, as it continues to expand its presence across Asia. This includes the launch of the Future Forest Innovations Fund, a joint venture with Oji Holdings, to invest in forestry plantations in southeast Asia.

Its other funds have also continued to make strategic acquisitions across the region to establish an integrated timber processing and plantation business across Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.

The investor also reached its largest fundraising milestone in recent months with the AUD600 million ($391 million) final close of its Australia New Zealand Landscapes and Forestry Fund. The fund, which invests in a portfolio of core forestry plantations and processing infrastructure, attracted capital from large institutional investors across Europe and the Asia Pacific region.
