Sustainable Investment Awards 2025

Multi-asset manager of the year; Best sustainability reporting by an asset or fund manager (large): Janus Henderson

Janus Henderson says 84% of its total assets under management incorporate environmentally and socially responsible practices, and engagement with companies across its portfolios is key to driving positive impact.

One Sustainable Investment Awards judge praised Janus Henderson for its "strong organisation-wide commitment to sustainable investing".

Michelle Dunstan, chief responsibility officer at Janus Henderson, reports directly to its CEO, sits on the firm's Strategic Leadership Team, and provides quarterly reports to its board on established metrics and targets, progress on priority initiatives, and educational topics, including ESG regulations, the asset manager says.

Meanwhile, its sustainability report identifies work across diversity, equity and inclusion policies and a tax policy designed to ensure a "transparent and fair" approach that demonstrates its commitment to "responsible corporate citizenship".

In the past year, the asset manager has sought to forge progress, including by hosting debates with its clients on responsible use of artificial intelligence, eliciting positive feedback from clients who said they appreciated the asset manager's "active stance on responsible investing".

It is also "actively pursuing science-based targets to minimise carbon, waste, and water emissions".

Janus Henderson was certified as a CarbonNeutral company in 2024, including for emissions across its corporate Scope 1, 2, and a subset of upstream Scope 3 emissions, including business travel.
