Community Capital Management (CCM) has secured the Americas fixed income fund of the year award for its flagship Community Impact Bond (CIB) fund.
Launched in 1999, the $4 billion CIB fund invests in US bonds that have "direct and measurable" positive impact on 14 key impact themes identified by CCM.
As of March 2026, the main themes targeted by the portfolio holdings include affordable housing, minority advancement, environmental sustainability, and poverty alleviation. Other themes affordable healthcare, disaster recovery, resilience and remediation, and rural community development.
In particular, an Environmental Finance Sustainable Investment Awards judge praised the fund for its focus on customisable impact – including reporting – for major investors. This unique approach has previously contributed to CCM scooping an Environmental Finance Impact Award in 2024.
CCM said this approach allows certain shareholders to "tailor their capital to support specific [US] geographies, impact themes, or impact initiatives".
The fund holds more than 2,500 individual US securities, including mortgage-backed securities (MBS), commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), corporate bonds, and municipal bonds. Since inception, the fund has delivered a 3.12% annualised return compared to a 2.99% return from its benchmark, the Bloomberg Intermediate US Aggregate Index.
