2026 marks the sixth year in a row that Mercer has picked up the Environmental Finance Sustainable Investment Award for Investment consultant of the year.

Following its acquisition of Cardano at the end of 2024, Mercer spent 2025 integrating its 'Sustainable Investing (SI) teams, which now comprise 68 SI specialists across the globe. They are further supported by an additional 31 SI champions.

As part of its integration efforts, 2025 saw it launch the Sustainable Investment University and the Sustainable Investment Engine, bringing together colleagues to develop new SI research, tools, and approaches to help address the problems faced by its investor clients.   

The firm also launched its Impact Pathway, highlighting updated guidance for investors interested in pursuing an impact investment approach. It also undertook deeper research, alongside Marsh Risk, into the physical impacts of climate change.

Meanwhile, Mercer Australia partnered with Circular Australia to produce the report Circular Economy for Investors and Lenders, as well as an accompanying guide, underlining how a more circular economy can be profitable, actionable, and achievable for the financial sector.
