Brief description of the data offering
Since the landmark UK Greenbury Report in 1995, Minerva Analytics (Minerva) has been at the forefront of executive pay analysis and data. Since the inception of the UK-focused initiative, our remuneration framework has evolved, and for many year,s we have provided global coverage, trusted by regulators, academics, investors, and remuneration consultants alike.
With comprehensive international coverage and a reputation for objectivity, Minerva delivers the clarity and consistency needed to navigate today’s complex governance landscape.
Minerva’s data is widely recognised as the most objective and reliable source for executive remuneration benchmarking. In response to evolving market expectations and regulatory developments around say-on-pay, we introduced the Minerva Total Remuneration Assessment (MTRA); a structured, top-down framework that delivers a holistic view of executive compensation.
The MTRA provides:
- A practical, quantitative evaluation of key pay components;
- Clear alignment between performance, strategy, and reward; and
- Insight into both current and historical remuneration structures.
Whether you're an investor seeking transparency or a governance professional aiming to benchmark effectively, Minerva’s remuneration intelligence equips you with the clarity and confidence to make informed decisions.
The MTRA has been designed to:
- Provide objective, quantitative insights to improve annual remuneration review efficiency and effectiveness;
- Improve investors’ ability to assess the linkage between remuneration and corporate performance across multiple metrics;
- Enable investors to see and better understand the ongoing attainment of the pay/performance targets; and
- Identify systemic issues that typically give investors cause for concern and possible action, either voting or dialogue.
The MTRA framework is based on four high-level data elements with a higher weight in Alignment and Quantum scores, which are underpinned by further sub-pillars:
- Alignment - Link to Strategy, Short Term Incentive, Performance Measures, Long Term Incentive – Performance Measures, Director Shareholdings;
- Quantum - Total Remuneration, Salary, Pensions and Other, Short-Term Incentive, Long-Term Incentive;
- Contracts – Notice Period, Termination Payment Provisions; and
- Dilution – Dilution Limits, Outstanding Dilution, Fair Value Transfer.
