Brief description of the data offering

Iceberg Data Lab (IDL) offers comprehensive EU Taxonomy alignment and screening solutions for financial institutions. These include metrics and scores that help investors and companies evaluate the eligibility and alignment of their assets and portfolios with the EU Taxonomy framework. The methodology is built around identifying activities that are eligible, assessing substantial contribution, verifying “Do No Significant Harm” (DNSH), and ensuring compliance with Minimum Social Safeguards (MSS) such as ILO conventions and OECD guidelines.

IDL's offer covers eligibility, alignment, technical, DNSH, and MSS values for companies and assets. The solution provides a breakdown of revenue, CapEx, and OpEx aligned with the taxonomy, using a granular and sector-based approach modeled down to individual economic activities via the NACE classification.

Where and how do you source your data?

Company-reported data and sustainability reports, when available and reliable. If company data is not available or incomplete, IDL models the data using sector, commodity, and geography-specific parameters.

Open-source databases provided by governments, central banks, and scientific organizations.

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) databases and financial/environmental datasets for product-level impacts.

Physical flows and input-output models (such as their proprietary Wunderpus model) to estimate emissions through the entire value chain, covering scopes 1, 2, and 3 for high granularity and sector comparability.

Independent scientific studies and internationally recognized frameworks (e.g., IPCC, IEA, SBTi, TNFD, PBAF) for methodologies and benchmark data.
