IDL now offers Sovereign environmental indicators, allowing users to assess the environmental impact of sovereign issuers—enabling analysis at both country/sovereign bonds and aggregated portfolio levels.
The approach is grounded in the same EMMRIO (Environmental Extended Multi-Regional Input-Output) model that underpins IDL’s corporate data suite. This model captures physical flows (goods/services produced and consumed) and links them to environmental pressures such as land use, water pollution, air pollution, and climate impacts. Key units, like square kilometers MSA (Mean Species Abundance), are used and recognized in biodiversity reporting.
