Brief description of the data offering

Upright is transforming sustainability data for corporates and institutional investors, delivering science-based, fully comparable impact metrics that support regulatory compliance, future-proof strategy, and investment performance across asset classes.

With exceptional full coverage across listed and unlisted companies, Upright’s proprietary data engine addresses a key challenge in the ESG data market: access to holistic, evidence-based sustainability data – regardless of a company’s own reporting capabilities.

Trusted by leading organisations, including the European Investment Bank, APG, Pictet, EQT, Swarovski, and Orkla, Upright provides a comprehensive suite of datasets for all key frameworks. These include proprietary net impact metrics, UN SDG alignment, CSRD double materiality assessments, and EU Taxonomy and SFDR PAI compliance. All data is available via an intuitive platform and API, with benchmarking against Upright’s unmatched database of 50,000+ companies and 35,000+ funds.

Where and how do you source your data?

Upright produces its data by a proprietary mathematical model that quantifies sustainability impacts, risks, and opportunities based on what products and services companies actually sell – not what they disclose in reports.

To analyse a company, Upright maps its products and services using a proprietary taxonomy of over 150,000 items, interlinked through global value chains. Each product is then connected to its external positive and negative impacts using insights from more than 300 million scientific articles and statistical databases such as ILOSTAT, the World Bank, the World Economic Forum, and the OECD.

The result is objective, comparable, evidence-based data on the real-world outcomes of companies’ core business activities – built on science, not self-reporting. For investors, company-level impacts can be aggregated seamlessly to the fund level for screening, reporting, and portfolio construction.

What is the cost for your data offering?

Large quantities of data are distributed for free through uprightplatform.com in line with Upright's open data policy. Annual enteprise subscriptions are priced individually.
