Brief description of the data offering
NatureMetrics is a world leader in delivering nature data and intelligence, deploying cutting-edge technology to generate biodiversity insights at scale using environmental DNA (eDNA), Earth Observation (EO), and advanced data science and AI.
Our Nature Intelligence Platform transforms how businesses measure, monitor, and report their nature impacts, risks, and opportunities, bringing a scalable commercial solution to biodiversity monitoring and equipping global organisations for new nature reporting commitments including TNFD and CSRD.
Field-collected biological signals, from eDNA sampling and bioacoustic monitoring, are shipped to NatureMetrics and processed through our proprietary laboratory and bioinformatics pipeline, translating species presence and abundance data into actionable business insights.
We serve over 500 clients across 100+ countries, spanning assets in terrestrial, freshwater, and marine environments.
NatureMetrics is an Earthshot Prize 2024 Finalist, TechNation Future Fifty 2025 company, Bloomberg Top 25 UK Startup to Watch, BNEF Finalist 2024, Winner of the Environmental Finance IMPACT 2024 awards, and a Sunday Times Tech 100 Ones to Watch.
Where and how do you source your data?
NatureMetrics collects biodiversity data through field-based environmental DNA (eDNA) sampling and bioacoustic monitoring, deployed by a global network of clients and partners. All eDNA and bioacoustics kits are designed to be used by non-experts and citizen scientists. eDNA samples are shipped to NatureMetrics and processed through our proprietary laboratory and bioinformatics pipeline, which identifies species presence from genetic material.
For our nature risk, habitat and portfolio-level intelligence products, we draw on satellite-derived Earth Observation data and over 26 globally validated geospatial datasets. These are integrated with our field-collected data and 3rd party data uploaded by clients using advanced data science and AI to generate site- and portfolio-level insights at scale.
All data undergoes rigorous quality assurance before delivery.
What is the cost for your data offering?
Field-based biodiversity monitoring programmes, including eDNA sampling and bioacoustic surveys, are priced per project, based on scope, geography, and monitoring frequency.
Access to the Nature Intelligence Platform, including risk, species, habitat, ecosystem and AI insights are available via subscription. Subscription tiers are tailored to organisational size and use case, and can be combined with ground-truthed field data collection for a fully integrated nature monitoring and reporting solution.
