Brief description of the data offering

The Net Zero Alignment Dataset (NZAD) translates directly reported, board-signed environmental disclosures collected through CDP into comparable net-zero and temperature-alignment metrics. It enables users to assess whether companies have 1.5°C-aligned targets and transition plans, and evaluate the credibility, completeness and trajectory of those commitments.

NZAD uses target-based temperature alignment metrics to assess corporate emissions reduction targets across Scope 1, 2 and 3, producing temperature scores for operational and value-chain emissions over short, medium and long-term time horizons. Temperature pathways are derived from IPCC 1.5°C scenarios and recognised international energy and sectoral pathways.

The dataset also integrates transition plan disclosure indicators, enabling users to contextualise alignment results with reported governance, strategy and implementation data. For high-impact sectors, NZAD applies sector-specific intensity benchmarks using the Sectoral Decarbonisation Approach (SDA), allowing assessment of both ambition and performance against recognised decarbonisation pathways.

NZAD is a portfolio and counterparty alignment tool explicitly designed for asset managers, banks and private equity firms. It is issuer-based and derived from corporate disclosures rather than asset-level modelling.
