Brief description of the data offering
CDP runs the world's largest environmental disclosure platform, collecting data from thousands of companies and resulting in comprehensive quantitative and qualitative datasets on climate change, water, and deforestation.
After each annual disclosure period, CDP provides a letter score for each company through a transparent methodology. The score assesses a company's progress towards environmental stewardship based on the level of detail and comprehensiveness in its response, as well as its awareness of environmental issues, management methods and progress towards action taken as reported in the response.
This scoring process simplifies hundreds of datapoints within each company response into a metric that can be integrated into financial decision-making. CDP scores are available for each of CDP’s questionnaires: climate change, water and deforestation.
Where and how do you source your data?
CDP scores incentivize companies to measure and manage environmental impacts through participation in CDP's climate change, forests, and water security questionnaires. Each of CDP’s questionnaires has a publicly available scoring methodology. The scoring of CDP's questionnaires is conducted by accredited scoring partners trained by CDP. CDP’s internal scoring team coordinates and collates all scores and runs data quality checks and quality assurance processes to ensure that scoring standards are aligned between samples and scoring partners.
