Brief description of the data offering

PREPdata is a map-based, open data online platform that allows users to access and visualize spatial data reflecting past and future climate, as well as the physical and socio-economic landscape for climate adaptation and resilience planning. It is a flexible tool for climate adaptation planning, designed to address many of the gaps and challenges adaptation practitioners face.

The platforms wide-ranging datasets include temperature, precipitation, drought and flood risk, social vulnerability, coastal energy facilities, landslides, sea level rise, global urban heat island effect, reservoirs and dams, global cropland extent and more.

Where and how do you source your data?

PREP partners engage in active curation of data sets focused on climate resilience, streamlining the process of accessing and navigating to relevant data. Sources include National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), United States Geological Survey (USGS), European Space Agency (ESA), and more. The platform is continuing to evolve through the input of PREP partners and PREPdata users.

What is the cost for your data offering?

No cost. PREPdata is a free, open-source data platform.
