Brief description of the data offering

The DataDesk platform features a customisable ‘Portfolio Analytics’ tool which can be used to run a range of analyses for equity portfolios as well as fixed income/mixed portfolios. Users can upload and/or build any number of custom portfolios and watchlists which can be analysed or used as a benchmark.

Reports available include:

  • ESG Portfolio Analysis, an in-depth assessment of the ESG related performance of an investment portfolio. In addition, the analysis allows users to include their own custom-built ESG Profiles from a wide range of exclusionary screens.
  • Climate Impact Reports, enabling investors to assess the climate impact of their portfolios with the click of a button. Clients can generate an unlimited amount of reports based on the carbon and climate data set available on the platform.
  • SDG Reporting. ISS ESG provides portfolio-level reporting options for its SDG solutions, detailing the overall portfolio impacts compared to a benchmark as well as providing in-depth analysis of the portfolio impact objective by objective compared to a benchmark.
  • Regulatory reporting is available at a portfolio level which includes:
    • EU Taxonomy Report – includes a summary of overall taxonomy alignment across the entire portfolio and benchmark  across all six climate and environment related taxonomy objectives.
    • SFDR Report – includes an overview of SFDR level one disclosures that leverages data from four underlying ISS ESG products and solutions that can be used to show how the portfolio takes into account the adverse impacts of their investments along with broad sustainability risks.
    • EU Regulation Report, a combined report including both EU Taxonomy and SFDR PAI data.
  • ISS QualityScore Governance Profile Reports provide insight into a company’s corporate governance structures, key risks, score history and deep dives into underlying data.
  • Norm-Based Research Reports provide information on company assessments, scores, responsiveness assessments and history.

Where and how do you source your data?

To build up a comprehensive picture of each company, ISS ESG analysts collect information relevant to the rating both from the companies being analysed and from independent experts. During the rating process, considerable importance is attached to the dialogue with the company under evaluation.

All the information received is cross-referenced with other sources (local authorities, local press etc.). In addition to the process of cross-checking and validating sources, ISS ESG uses independent experts on thematic issues (human rights, environment) or regional issues to assess the credibility of the information.

What is the cost for your data offering?

Pricing is based on the method by which data is delivered. ISS ESG can provide data via its proprietary platform, DataDesk, or via data feed. Pricing for this solution is available upon request.
