Brief description of the data offering

Trase Finance is the only platform and data product enabling investors and lenders to quantitatively understand their exposure to deforestation for commodities such as soy, palm oil, beef, cocoa and coffee. It enhances the unique supply chain modelling approach of Trase, a data-driven initiative which has mapped over 60% of global trade in forest risk commodities, making it the world's most comprehensive ESG supply chain database.

Trase Finance resolves import and export companies to legal entities enriching with common financial identifiers, ownership data, securities and other key data points for aggregating deforestation exposure. This enables the aggregation of deforestation risk so financial institutions can screen, monitor, manage and engage on both direct and indirect exposures within investment universes and portfolios.

Where and how do you source your data?

Trase maps supply chains by bringing together disparate private and publicly available data – including shipping, logistics, tax and other data – to connect consumer markets to deforestation and other impacts in producer countries. This data is then extended with legal entity and financial data via open source datasets and proprietary products licenced for redistribution. Trase Finance leverages a unique graph database to integrate and store the data in order to enable the rapid traversal of complex supply chains and ownership structures to identify pathways by which investors and lenders are exposed to reputational, equity and credit risk from deforestation.

What is the cost for your data offering?

None.
