Where and how do you source your data?

Matter collects data via three distinct mechanisms:

  1. Company Reported Data - Matter utilises company reported data, such as Carbon Emissions or revenue data, before applying rules and methods to align it with leading frameworks, such as SFDR or the SDGs. Where data gaps exist, they are addressed by utilising advanced, machine learning-driven estimation methods.
  2. Third party observations - We harness collective intelligence, working with +45 expert sources (think tanks, NGOs, academic institutions, specialised data providers) to provide an outside in perspective on different areas of company sustainability on areas such as human rights, biodiversity and beyond.
  3. Advanced technology - We apply a Natural Language Processing model to millions of articles of global news media to provide insights into how companies are perceived in the media, aligned with the SDGs.

What is the cost for your data offering?
