EF's Middle East Transition Finance Awards winners announced

Environmental Finance has announced the winners of its first-ever Middle East Transition Finance Awards, recognising the most impactful transition-focused and sustainable finance transactions across the region.

The awards highlight leading bond and loan deals that are supporting the Middle East's shift toward a more sustainable and resilient economic future. They also recognise the institutions driving innovation in transition finance as regional capital markets continue to evolve.

Winners were selected by an independent panel of expert judges, who assessed entries based on their contribution to mobilising capital, innovation in structure, and overall impact. The judging process reflected the growing depth and sophistication of the region's sustainable finance market.

This year's awards showcase a range of transactions across sectors, demonstrating how financial institutions and issuers are developing solutions to meet transition objectives while maintaining commercial viability.

Winning five awards in total, Emirates NBD Group was a standout winner, receiving awards for its role as a lead manager, as well as awards for individual transactions across the functions of three group entities, Emirates NBD, Emirates Islamic and Emirates NBD Capital.

His Excellency Majid Al Suwaidi won Personality of the Year in his role as chief executive officer of ALTÉRRA, as the firm looks to bridge the gap between public ambition and private investment in the climate transition.

"The winners illustrate the increasing role of sustainable finance in the region's economic development and the continued expansion of transition-focused investment opportunities," commented Annabelle Palmer, content strategist at Environmental Finance.

"My congratulations to all the winners. I look forward to seeing how the region continues to approach transition finance as Environmental Finance's awards continue to highlight leadership in execution and innovation."
