Environmental Finance recognised at awards

Sophie Robinson-Tillett moderating a panel on indexes at Environmental Finance's green bond conference in LondonEnvironmental Finance news editor Sophie Robinson-Tillett has been honoured with an award for journalism, underlining the publication's status as the leading global title in its field.

Robinson-Tillett was named Journalist of the Year – Passive Investment/Indexing (including ETFs), at the State Street UK Institutional Press Awards at a ceremony in London this week.

The panel of judges was impressed with her features on green bond indexes and low-carbon indexes.

The prestigious awards received some 170 entries. The judges said they were, in particular, seeking high-quality analysis.

The award reflects Environmental Finance's status as a vital source of news and analysis covering the potential risks and rewards posed to investors by environmental themes, such as the transition to the low-carbon economy.

In a further endorsement of the title's quality, at the same ceremony Environmental Finance editor Peter Cripps was shortlisted for the award for Best Editorial Comment. The judges were impressed by a piece calling for more transparency in the nascent green bond market, and another article reflecting on a green bond issued by a private equity firm.

"We congratulate all shortlisted journalists and winners," said Jeff Conway, chief executive officer for Europe, Middle East and Africa at State Street. "The quality of reporting in the Institutional Press Awards showcases the vital role media plays a vital role in covering, analysing and debating complex issues in the global financial industry." EF
