Join NBIM, GSAM and the FCA at The Future of ESG Data conference

Environmental Finance's annual conference on ESG data is expected to be the biggest yet, boosted by the launch of an additional stream on nature data.

The Future of ESG Data EMEA in London is now just over a month away, which means an 'early-bird' offer to book discounted tickets expires this week.

The conference, which last year hosted some 300 delegates, comes at a critical time for sustainability-related data, as the EU consults on its Omnibus package of measures to reduce the reporting burden on companies, stimulating discussion around what data is material to investors.

Meanwhile, there is growing understanding of the importance of nature data, although its complex and location-specific character brings a host of challenges.

With data underpinning all investment decisions, the quality of ESG data continues to be a topic of fundamental importance to the sustainable finance sector.

This year's event boasts a strong line-up of companies represented, including:

Investors: Norges Bank Investment Management, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Man Group, Phoenix Group, M&G, MUFG, Morgan Stanley, BNP Paribas, Fidelity International, Generation Investment Management, Franklin Templeton, Impax Asset Management.

Insurers: SCOR, Aviva, Howden and Beazley.

Corporates: Bayer, Unilever, Smurfit Westrock, ABB, Orsted, IHG, United Utilities and BAT.

It is sponsored by BlackRock's Preqin, Sustainable Fitch, WeeFin, LSEG, ClarityAI and Carbon4 Finance.

Some sessions to look out for include:

  • A keynote address from Vanessa LeBlanc, Sustainable Finance Policy Manager at the Financial Conduct Authority on evolving UK regulations impacting ESG data.
  • A keynote from Ayako Kageyama, Head, Innovative Sustainable Finance, Nippon Life Insurance Company on asset owner perspectives on nature investments and the associated data issues.
  • -A Fireside Chat with Diandra Soobiah, Director of Responsible Investment at Nest Pensions, about what ESG data is most material.
  • A presentation from Budha Bhattacharya, Head of Systematic Research at Lombard Odier Investment Managers, on how satellite and AI technologies are helping ESG data to become more granular, accurate and usable.

This year's event will also include:

  • Breakout roundtable discussions
  • Networking app & meeting tool
  • 10-minute dedicated product pitches.
